Creative Solutions in Healthcare Announces Key Leadership Promotions

As we continue to grow and strengthen our organization, we’re thrilled to announce Kelly Roberts has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Clinical Reimbursement and Ancillary Services.
As Kelly transitions into her senior leadership role, we are proud to recognize Lorraine Leija’s outstanding contributions and share her promotion to Vice President of Clinical Reimbursement and Ancillary Services.
Kelly Roberts Promoted to Senior Vice President of Clinical Reimbursement and Ancillary Services
Kelly Roberts began her career in long-term care 31 years ago as a nurse and quickly discovered her passion for the field. In 1998, she was introduced to the MDS role; Since then, she has dedicated herself to mastering and leading MDS reimbursement strategies, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the industry. Working in various roles, with increasing responsibility, Kelly made it her mission to master MDS.
Next month marks Kelly’s 18th year with Creative Solutions in Healthcare. She has seen the company grow from 16 buildings to 159 facilities today. Her leadership has guided the organization through the transition to PCC, several Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement changes, annual MDS updates from CMS, and the ever-evolving demands on MDS Case Managers.
Though her career has been marked by outstanding outcomes in Quality Measures, MDS accuracy, and compliance, when Kelly was asked which of her accomplishments she is most proud of, she shared, “I’m proud that my Regional Team Tenure is over 14 Years. We promote from within so the growth and opportunity is available to all that seek opportunities.” She continued saying she’s proud of creating “an MDS Recipe,” and helping her team to commit to ‘following the recipe’.
Lorraine Leija Promoted to Vice President of Clinical Reimbursement and Ancillary Services
Lorraine began her career in long-term care in 1998, as a CNA student at Graham Oaks Care Center while still in high school. Over the next 15 years, she held various roles at Graham Oaks, including Charge Nurse, MDS Coordinator, Admissions Coordinator, Vent Unit Manager, and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). In 2013, she joined Daybreak Venture as a Traveling MDS Coordinator. After a year in that role, she was promoted to Regional Reimbursement Nurse and, within three months, advanced again to Director of Clinical Reimbursement.
When Creative Solutions in Healthcare acquired the Daybreak portfolio of facilities in April of 2021, she transitioned to Creative as our Director of Medical Review.
As she approaches her fourth anniversary with Creative on April 1st, Lorraine reflects on the company’s unwavering support and true teamwork approach as the most impactful aspects of her experience.
In her role overseeing Medical Review, she has helped the company navigate nearly $20 million in audits over four years, with a 96.5 percent success rate—an achievement she is incredibly proud of.
Lorraine shared her excitement for the new role, saying “I am honored and excited. The Clinical Reimbursement team, under Kellys leadership, is the strongest in the state. I am humbled to be a part the continued growth and strengthening of the department.”
