Nursing Care
What should I consider when looking for a home for my loved one?
When seeking a home for your loved one, it’s crucial to focus on key aspects. Ensure the environment is safe, meeting specific care needs. Prioritize cleanliness standards and a quality dietary program with fresh, healthy meals. Look for engaging activities promoting mental well-being and also emphasize regular communication between staff and families for a supportive environment.
Selecting a facility can be overwhelming, choosing your priorities and tailoring your search accordingly will help ease the process. You can use our facility locator to help find a community near you that meets your requirements: https://creativesolutionsinhealthcare.com/locations/
How do I know if my loved one needs to be placed in a nursing home?
Determining if your loved one needs placement in a nursing home involves assessing their overall well-being and specific care requirements. Consider factors such as their ability to perform daily activities, medical conditions, and the level of support they need.
You may need to consider your care options if your loved one:
- Can no longer take care of themselves due to their declining physical, mental, or emotional health.
- Begins having difficulty bathing, eating, and completing other basic daily tasks.
- Requires more care and attention than the current caregiver can provide.
- Needs constant supervision to prevent them from wandering.
- Has been discharged from the hospital and requires temporary skilled nursing before returning home.
- Was recommended to be placed in a nursing home by a doctor or other physician.
Consult with their healthcare professionals for guidance and discuss the option of a nursing home if their care needs surpass what can be provided in their current environment.

Am I covered by Medicare or Medicaid? What’s the difference?
Understanding your coverage is essential. Medicare and Medicaid are both government programs, but they serve different purposes. Medicare is a federal health insurance program primarily for individuals aged 65 and older, as well as certain younger individuals with disabilities. It generally covers hospital stays, doctor visits, and other medical services.
On the other hand, Medicaid is a joint federal and state program that provides health coverage for individuals with low income. Eligibility and benefits can vary by state, and it covers a broader range of services than Medicare. Medicaid often covers long-term care services, including nursing home care, for those who qualify based on income and other criteria.
To determine your coverage, it’s crucial to check your specific circumstances and consult with our team. We can assist in verifying your eligibility and guiding you through the process to ensure you have a clear understanding of the benefits available to you.
