West Division Dietary Managers Bring Culture and Creativity to the Table

At Creative Solutions in Healthcare, food is more than nourishment, it’s connection, comfort, and culture. Our Hispanic Heritage Menu is one of the many ways we celebrate our residents’ stories, traditions, and favorite flavors. This special and seasonal menu highlights authentic dishes that reflect the rich heritage of so many residents across our facilities.

Recently, a group of Dietary Managers from our West Division came together at our Fort Worth Training Office and Test Kitchen to give this menu a thoughtful refresh for the upcoming Fall/Winter season. Many traveled hundreds of miles—from El Paso and beyond—to take part in this hands-on collaboration.

Working side by side with our food vendor Ben E. Keith, the team spent the day sampling new products, testing recipes, and discussing creative ways to balance nutrition, culture, and resident preference. Together, they reviewed an impressive 105 meals (three meals a day for five weeks) to ensure every bite reflects what residents truly enjoy.

This was more than just a menu review, it was a deep dive into resident satisfaction. Using feedback from their communities, the team examined which meals residents loved and where there were opportunities to refresh the menu. They considered the seasonal availability of produce, cultural authenticity, and even visual appeal to make sure each plate brought both comfort and excitement to the dining experience.

One small example captures their attention to detail: while reviewing the lineup, they noticed Spanish rice appeared three times in quick succession. Rather than repeating a familiar side, they brainstormed alternatives—testing root vegetable–based dishes that offered both variety and balance. Finally landing on a menu that keeps residents engaged, nourished, and delighted week after week.

This collaborative project showcases the passion and care that define Creative Solutions. By honoring heritage through food, our Dietary Managers continue to turn every meal into a celebration of culture, community, and comfort.
